Air France-KLM Drops Business-Class Awards to 35,000 Miles One-Way
· Trovlr
Air France-KLM launched a flash award sale today, pricing business-class seats from 35,000 Flying Blue miles one-way on select routes to Europe. That's down from the usual 55,000–70,000 miles — a 40% cut on the program's standard saver level. Routes include New York-JFK to Paris-CDG, Boston to Amsterdam, and Washington-Dulles to Paris.
The catch: travel must happen between November 15 and March 15, 2027, and blackout dates cover the Christmas rush from December 18 to January 4. Taxes and fees run about $230 round-trip on most itineraries. Seats are limited to two per flight, so solo travelers and couples have the best shot. Book directly on flyingblue.com — the sale fares won't show on Google Flights.
This matters because Flying Blue moved to dynamic pricing two years ago and saver-level business awards have been scarce since. A 35,000-mile transatlantic lie-flat is genuinely rare in 2026. If you have a stash of Amex or Chase points, both transfer to Flying Blue at 1:1, often with a 25% transfer bonus running this week. Check the bonus before you transfer — it can save you thousands of points.
One warning: Flying Blue charges $50–$100 to cancel or change award tickets, and this sale inventory is non-refundable within 24 hours of departure. Book only if your dates are firm. The sale ends November 3 at 11:59 p.m. CET.
